Changelog
What changed, newest first.
Devices per key
- One key, several computers. On Starter, Pro and Business a key can be allowed on up to 3, 5 or 15 devices — choose it when you generate keys, or change it later in the key’s panel. Free keys stay one device each.
- Public keys have a device limit per plan: 10 devices on Free, 100 on Starter, 1,000 on Pro, none on Business. Devices that already used a public key keep working.
- New reason code
device_limitwhen a key is full. Existing keys answer exactly as before; the SDKs need no update. - New Why Foliox License page comparing the service with other licensing tools.
UPI, cards and PayPal
- Pay with UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), Indian cards and netbanking through Razorpay’s checkout window on the Billing page, or with PayPal or a card through PayPal — next to crypto, which is unchanged. Plans switch on within seconds of paying.
- Every payment is confirmed with the payment provider’s own API before a plan is activated, and card details never reach Foliox License.
- New refund & cancellation and delivery policies.
Public keys
- New key type: public keys. Turn on the Public key switch when you generate keys and the key is never bound to a device — any number of people can use it at the same time. Normal keys still lock to one device and are the default.
- Available on every plan, in the dashboard and in the automation API (
"keyType": "public"; responses now includekey_type). The automation clients for Python and Node.js take akey_type/keyTypeoption. - Expiry, revoke and restore work as before; device resets don’t apply. The per-key rate limits are lifted for public keys, and they are never flagged as “possibly shared”.
- The license protocol is unchanged: same requests, same signed fields, so existing apps and SDKs work with public keys as they are.
